This beginners' workshop covers the basic steps you need to help keep in touch with your family and friends using email. It will explain how to set up an email account, how to send an email, and how to read and reply to emails that have been sent to you. Setting up your own email account will allow you to communicate with people you know in ways you never thought possible. To attend this workshop you must have at least basic skills on the device you will be bringing to the class. Please note you must bring your own fully charged device, charger, a notepad and pen.
The Tech Savvy Seniors program (held in partnership with the NSW Government and Telstra) delivers government-funded digital literacy training to seniors (aged 60 years and above) and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander elders (aged 50 years and above) who have little or no experience in using technologies or require additional skills and confidence to use and adapt to new technologies, so they can develop the skills and confidence to access information and services online, or connect with family and friends.
