Cavan Hogue’s academic qualifications come from the University of Sydney (BA), and Macquarie University (Master of Applied Linguistics). For two years, he was a Fellow at the Centre for International Affairs at Harvard (1975/6). After retiring from his diplomatic career, highlighted by several Ambassadorships, his career in academia has included the Directorship of the National Thai Studies Centre at ANU, Adjunct Professorship at UTS (International Studies Institute) and Adjunct Professor in International Communication, Faculty of Arts, Macquarie university, where he taught both graduate and undergraduate programs.
