...From the discovery of the lost First Fleet cows, this region has contributed significantly to our agricultural history. Here we can view our colonial story from a different perspective and investigate the contrast between Camden, built by the Macarthurs, their workers, family and friends, for the good of the little people, and Campbelltown, where the people decided what they needed and then keep working till they make it happen. Here we will find many important heritage buildings, as well as fascinating characters like John Oxley, Caroline Chisolm, Fr John Therry, the Mawsons and, of course, the ghost of Fred Fisher.
