  •  The Return of the King, ‘Book 6’ of The Lord of the Rings, including Mount Doom, the Steward and the King, and Homeward Bound.

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Appreciate the scope and narrative of this famous book
  2. Recognise the sources and influences that helped Tolkien write the book: including his academic learning, his travels, and his experiences in the trenches during WWI.
