We will learn about the history of Crete: a myth about king Minos, hero Perseus and monster Minotaur. We will see the Palace of Knossos and learn about its excavation by Sir Arthur Evans. In Heraklion Archaeological Museum we will see its famous Phaistos Disc, Bull-leaper and Snake Goddess figurines. We will learn about other ancient Cretan palaces in Malia and Phaistos. Crete is also famous for its artists and writers, including El Greco and Kazantzakis. In Lychonostatis Open Air Museum we will get familiar with traditional Cretan life. We will relax in local cafes and beaches.
