...Discover the rich, melodic and improvisational music of India through an exploration of Indian classical, folk and popular music. This course will showcase traditional Hindustani and Carnatic art music, regional folk music, and lastly, Bollywood and fusion music. Students will also have the opportunity to learn and perform songs from the musical genres studied.

- An overview of Indian classical music traditions, focusing on the core features and instruments of Hindustani and Carnatic music
- Regional folk music styles with an awareness of their cultural contexts
- The history and evolution of Bollywood music and how it and the blending of Indian and musical styles from other cultures impacted the global music scene
- Experience Indian Music Hands-On by learning Indian songs
