Available Classes
We will build on the basic chords you will already know and progressively add more to enable you to play a wider range of songs. Styles will include: Blues, Blue Grass, Ragtime and Ska as well as folk and popular music from various eras. Strumming patterns and melody playing will also be extended. Please bring your ukulele (available in all musical instrument shops starting at around $50) to the first lesson.

COURSE OUTLINE
- Consolidation of the skills you may already have acquired e.g. Chords: C, Am, F, G and G7 and songs using these chords
- Expansion of chord repertoire e.g. D, D7.A, A7, Em, B7, E7, Bb, Dm, Gm
- Expansion of song repertoire using the new chords
- Strumming patterns extended
- Improvisation on the pentatonic and blues scaled developed
- Exploration of less familiar styles e.g. Blue Grass, Ragtime and Ska
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Play with more confidence, ease and musical expression.
- Play an extended range of chords including: C, C7, Cmaj7, Am, F, G, G7, D, D7 and Em as well as change from one chord to another with greater ease and proficiency.
- Perform a wider variety of songs in a range of styles from traditional to popular that gradually increase in difficulty.
- Accompany one’s self and others singing or playing.
- Consider Tone and Expressive Techniques.
